According to a study by the Borderstep Institute, German data centers consumed a whopping 17,900 GWh of electricity in 2022. This corresponds to 3.65% of the country’s total electricity consumption. The estimated share of electricity consumption for cooling was therefore over 5,000,000,000 KWh. Cooling can account for up to 30% of consumption.

guardstack records temperature data in real time and creates a “thermal map” of your data center. The granular recording enables optimized control of the installed cooling units – precisely where the cooling is needed. Thanks to the precise thermal view of the “hot spots” and their targeted cooling, the overall target temperature of the room can be increased even in environments with a high computer density, which ultimately reduces the cooling costs for the entire data center.

Sensors for monitoring the environment

The complete solution offered in cooperation with sensor manufacturer ESERA enables precise monitoring of environmental conditions. With up to 30 sensors per gateway and up to five control cabinets with four sensors each, the system offers comprehensive sensor equipment that monitors temperature, humidity, air quality, air pressure and, optionally, door contacts.
